About Chronicles of Creation

This poem narrates the experience of living in fear and the longing for peace and a sense of home. The persona reflects on a life lived in constant awareness of death, a fear that has permeated their being. They express a sense of isolation and wonder at the sun's ability to shine despite the darkness. The speaker's body, ravaged by fear and hardship, seems to be rebelling against them. There's a longing for a peaceful death, but also a recognition that they haven't had the chance to live fully. The poem touches on themes of war, displacement, and the loss of innocence, particularly in the context of children who have experienced he same horrors. The poem leaves out some aspects of the persona like the gender, since it's just too subtle for t he persona, both i n time and place. The final lines express a sense of resignation and the unanswered question of who will truly listen to their suffering. ~Unknown Read Chronicals of Creation at the Highlights tab

Sunshine

Under the shade, we curse at the heat of the sun While in the sun, we find a reason for how good it is In sunlight, the shadow is a sketch and mirror of ourselves A companion that never lets go, and a dream of a desired partner. but in the moonlight, it becomes a nightmare, a creeping fear at the sight of ourselves ...
I sought through the crevices of my thoughts to find a choice between yes and no. From whence though do I find the right? For even the claim of 'humanity' is a privilege yet beheld by my palms. ~

I imagined without closing my eyes. Not just mind, But in my whole. I flew far from inside To a place of unknown.

The traveller

"It is, therefore, a source of great virtue for the practiced mind to learn. Bit by bit. First so change about invisible and transitory things, so that afterwards it may be able to leave them behind altogether. The man who finds his homeland sweet is still a tender beginner; he to whom every soil is as his native is already strong; but he is perfect to whom the entire world is as a foreign land. The tender soul has fixed his love on one spot in the world; the strong man has extended his love to all places; the perfect man has extinguished his."                                                                                           Hugo of St. Victor
